Long-time head track & field coach and athletic director at Westtown School, Rob Upton enters his 24th year as an assistant track & field coach with the Fords in 2023-24. A certified strength and conditioning coach, Upton will continue to train the track & field team's throwers.

His most decorated protégé, Joe Awantang ’08, the school record holder in the shot put, earned All-American honors during his senior year. This followed Upton's successes with Tom Reynolds ’05 who set Centennial Conference and team records in the discus while winning four outdoor conference titles. More recently, Haverford’s women have broken the school record for indoor & outdoor shot put, weight throw, and hammer throw all within the past four seasons.

As a former decathlete at Earlham College, Upton has a vast knowledge of all areas of track & field. He currently teaches math at Haverford School.
