Fords dominate in women's soccer victory over Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Three second-half goals broke a scoreless halftime tie allowing the Haverford College women's soccer team to take a 3-0 victory from host Immaculata University Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

Katie Van Aken gave Haverford (2-1) the lead in the game's 57th minute with her first goal of the season, then six minutes later teammate Kara McMahon notched her first tally of the year to push the lead to two over the Mighty Macs (0-3-1). Elizabeth Levitan finished off the scoring with 14 minutes left in the game notching her initial score this season.

The Fords dominated possession holding the hosts without a shot in the contest while registering 28 shots aimed toward the Immaculata net. Mighty Mac goalie Jessica Gabura stopped all five first-half Haverford shots that made it on frame and kept the first two second-half Fords shots out of the net before Van Aken took a feed from Sarah Andrade and finally broke the deadlock.

Haverford didn't even allow Immaculata a corner kick opportunity in the game while picking up 11 corner kick chances during the dominating performance.

Goalie Kayleigh Herrick-Reynolds enjoyed an easy day between the pipes for Haverford picking up her 11th career shutout which moves the senior into a tie for fourth-most in program history.

Next up for the Fords will be their Centennial Conference opener Wednesday, Sept. 15 against visiting Bryn Mawr College.
