LANDISVILLE, Pa. – Forward Meg Boyer broke a scoreless tie with a 67th-minute goal to give the Haverford College women's soccer team a 1-0 win over Elizabethtown College in non-conference action Saturday night at Hempfield High School.

With the victory, the Fords, 24th in the d3soccer.com poll, improve their overall record to 5-0-2. Haverford has shut out the opponent in all five of its wins in 2011.

After the goal, Elizabethtown (5-2-1) turned up the pressure by putting three shots on goal, all of which were stopped by Haverford keeper Robin Chernow. Chernow finished the game with four saves.

The Blue Jays' Jess Manchak recorded two stops in a losing effort. Elizabethtown owned a slight advantage in shots (8-7) and corner kicks (4-1).

Haverford will attempt to extend its unbeaten streak to eight when it visits Lebanon Valley College in a non-conference match Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m.
