LANCASTER, Pa. – Haverford College's women's soccer team placed six players on the 2011 All-Centennial Conference team, the most since six Fords were voted onto the 2004 all-league team.

Senior Katie Van Aken and sophomore Elizabeth Newman were tabbed first-team all-conference selections while the quartet of senior Sarah Andrade, junior Allie Chen, sophomore Meg Boyer and freshman Robin Chernow were voted onto the honorable mention squad.

Van Aken led the Fords in goals (eight), assists (six) and points (22) and tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with four. Her game-winners tied for the fourth-most in the league and increased her career total to 15, the most in program history.

Newman, who scored a pair of goals, helped anchor a last line of defense which allowed only 16 goals during the year, tied for the second-fewest within the Centennial in 2011.

Andrade and Chen were pivotal players for the Fords in the midfield during the team's march through the season and into the semifinal round of the conference tournament. Andrade finished the year with three goals and three assists for a total of nine points. Chen was third on the team with five goals -- including the game-winner in the Fords' victory over Franklin & Marshall in the 2011 tournament quarterfinal round -- and added an assist for a total of 11 points.

Boyer trailed only Van Aken in goals (6), assists (5) and points (17) in helping to spark the Haverford attack. She tied for the team lead in game-winners with four including the deciding goals in the Fords' 2-1 victory at Eastern Connecticut and 1-0 win at Elizabethtown.

Chernow stepped between the pipes in the first game of her first collegiate season and played every minute in goal for the Fords. She posted a .795 save percentage after accumulating 62 saves, and her 0.80 goals against average was fourth-best in the conference. It was also the third-best single-season goals against mark in program history.

Boyer, Chen, Newman and Van Aken each earned inclusion on the Centennial 2011 fall academic honor roll.
