Three Named All-Centennial Conference for Women's Soccer

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team had three different individuals garner All-Centennial Conference accolades as announced by the conference. These three players helped the Fords win 11 games during the 2015 season, the sixth time in the past seven seasons that the team has reached 10 or more victories in a season.

Captains Jo Haller and Abby Letts both earned second-team All-Centennial Conference recognition. Haller earned her honor for the first time as a senior. Entering her second season as captain, Haller led the team in every offensive category including goals (10), points (26), shots (59), shots on goal (32) and game-winning goals (5). She also tied for the team lead with six assists.

Her five game winning goals tied the program's single season record, while her assist total ranks among the top 10 for a single year at Haverford. She will graduate 12th all-time in game-winning goals during a career. Her best statistical games came during five point outings with two goals and an assist vs. both Cabrini and Bryn Mawr. Six of her 10 goals on the season came during Centennial Conference play.

Like Haller, Abby Letts earned all-conference recognition for the first time in her career. As a junior captain, Letts started all 17 games for the Fords. Anchoring a solid Haverford defense, Letts helped the Fords accumulate eight shutouts over the course of the season. She also scored the game-winning goal against Muhlenberg and had an assist in the win against Washington College.

A second member of that Haverford defense, Katie Safter, earned honorable mention All-Centennial Conference accolades in her first season with the Fords. Safter was also a constant in the Fords' defense as she too started 17 games on the year. She scored the game-winning goal against Bryn Mawr and also tallied a goal in the victory against Washington College.

Eyeing the future, women's soccer will look to return all but two players in graduating seniors Lexi Williams and Haller. That duo went to a pair of NCAA Tournaments during their time at Haverford and captured the 2012 Centennial Conference Tournament.
