ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Haverford College women's soccer (6-2-3, 2-1-2) team picked up a crucial three points in conference play with a resounding 3-0 win over homestanding Muhlenberg (1-9-1, 0-5-0) at Varsity FIeld on Saturday night. The two sides were scoreless at halftime before Haverford poured in three second half goals. Claire Cywes made two saves in goal to pick up the clean sheet. Haverford held a 22-4 edge in shots overall, including a 15-0 edge in that offensive-minded second half. The Fords had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks on the night.

After some solid looks in the first half, and a majority of the possession of the early goings, the Fords finally broke through in the 53rd minute, as Celia Page sent in an absolute screamer from well beyond the box to break the tie. Her shot sailed into the net past the reach of the leaping Muhlenberg keeper for her fourth goal of the 2022 campaign.

In the 70th minute, Sadie Kim got on the scoresheet as Meg Bowen sent in a perfectly-placed pass to find the forward in front of the goal mouth for her second goal of the season. Haverford added its third goal of the night off the foot of Kim again in the 83rd as Sarah Klink was credited with the assist after a fantastic cross to again find Kim with just the keeper to beat.

Haverford had most of the offensive momentum of the second half, with a huge edge in shots as it seemed like the Fords were right on the doorstep of breaking through prior to Page's long-range strike. Kim and Page each logged a game-best five shots on goal, with Kim putting a game-best four of those on frame. In total, 10 different Fords registered a shot in the triumph.

The Fords have won five straight matchups with Muhlenberg, and have not allowed a goal to the Mules since 2018.

Women's Soccer will next be in action on Saturday, October 8 at Ursinus. The contest with the Bears is slated to begin at 3 p.m. as Centennial Conference rolls on in Collegeville.
