Teresa Hegarty joined the Haverford Women’s Soccer program as an assistant coach prior to the 2023 season.

Hegarty came to Haverford after an illustrious playing career with the University of Scranton, a tenure in which she was named the Landmark Conference NCAA Woman of the Year nominee at the conclusion of her senior season.

The Bryn Mawr, Pa. and Merion Mercy product started 56 of the 59 career games that she played in and tallied 33 points on 11 goals and 11 assists. During her career, the women's soccer program won five NCAA Tournament games, advanced to consecutive NCAA Sweet 16s (2021, 2022) and captured three Landmark Conference championships (2019, 2021, 2022).

She was named a 2021 United Soccer Coaches & D3soccer.com Third Team All-American, a two-time All-Region and two-time All-Landmark Conference First Team honoree. Hegarty served as a three-time team captain including as a solo captain during her senior season in 2022.

Hegarty graduated from Scranton in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a minor in data analytics. She was a member of the Business Leadership Honors program, a Catherine Manley Coffey Fellowship recipient and a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu, Beta Gamma Sigma and Omega Beta Sigma honor societies during her time with the Royals.

Hegarty currently works as an Audit Associate at KPMG and resides in Bryn Mawr.
