GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Haverford College women's tennis team (3-3, 2-0 CC) swept Gettysburg (6-6, 0-1 CC) by a score of 7-0 for its second Centennial Conference victory of the season on a warm Saturday afternoon at the Bullets Tennis Courts.

The Fords began the day with a strong showing in doubles play. On court three, the duo of Lucy King and Caroline Gay swiftly defeated Harper Wood and Mia Graham, 6-0. On court one, Rachael Fitzgerald and Mallika Reddy secured the all-important doubles point with a 6-2 win over Emma Ward and Sarah Guistwite. To complete the doubles sweep, Abhishree Menon and Erika Phanord claimed a 6-1 victory on court two against Eden Levkov and Shoshana Dondes.

Leading 1-0 heading into singles play, Haverford quickly extended the advantage. King and Reddy each delivered dominant 6-0, 6-0 wins on courts two and three against Ward and Levkov, respectively, pushing the Fords' lead to 3-0. The match was officially clinched on court four, where Phanord defeated Dondes, 6-0, 6-3, giving Haverford an insurmountable 4-0 cushion.

On court six, Gay battled to a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Wood, adding the Fords' fifth point of the day. Menon followed with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kate Alianiello on court five. The final victory came on court one, where Fitzgerald earned her second win of the match by dispatching Guistwite, 6-3, 6-3, to complete the 7-0 sweep.

The Haverford women's tennis team will return to action on Tuesday, April 1, as they host Hood Trophy rival No. 18 Swarthmore at 4 p.m. The match will count as one point toward the highly contested Hood Trophy rivalry and very may well serve as a preview of a Centennial Conference postseason battle to come.
