Fords compete in 1,500m at Danny Curran Invite

CHESTER, Pa. - Several members of the Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team competed in the 1,500-meter run on the final day of the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University.

Participating in the 1,500 for the first time, senior Cara Keifer led the contingent of Fords with a fifth-place finish in 4 minutes, 52.44 seconds. Also finishing in the top 15 of the 48-runner field was junior Hope Rainey (ninth, 4:59.85), senior Sara Hess (12th, 5:02.02) and senior Kara McMahon (14th, 5:07.72).

Running the 1,500 for the first time in their careers, Freshmen Maggie Heffernan and Molly Allen placed 18th and 25th, respectively.

Haverford returns to action next Friday when it heads to Princeton University to compete in the Sam Howell Invitational.
