Sprints and Jumps Take Center Stage for Women's Track & Field on Day Two at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Haverford College Women's Track & Field team excelled on day two of the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival on Saturday afternoon, with events unfolding on Patterson Field, the site of last season's Centennial Conference championships. 

Olivia D'Aulerio clinched the 400-meter crown at the Ursinus-hosted event, leading the field with a time of 59.69. Isabel Thornberry closely followed her teammate, securing second place with a time of 59.78. Senior Shahla Mukhtar finished 21st with a time of 1:08.62, while Carly Priest finished 22nd with a time of 1:09.97. Brianna Feifer established a personal record, finishing 23rd running out of heat four with a time of 1:11.32, while Maya Holmes secured a 29th place overall showing with a time of 1:15.14.

A substantial group of 800-meter participants was led by Savannah Shaw, who secured third place overall with a time of 2:25.33. Anastasia Jaycobs also achieved a top 10 finish in the event, clocking in at 2:31.69. Jessie Hausman finished 15th with a time of 2:38.67, while Theresa Haupt achieved a personal best time of 2:43.02, securing a 20th place finish.

In the 100-meter dash preliminaries, Nadine Tang led the Fords, narrowly missing the final with a ninth-place finish (13.57), followed by Abby Ryan in 24th place (14.77) and Ella Fleming finishing 27th overall (15.06). The 4x100 meter relay squad seized the event title in 51.70, significantly ahead of second-place Albright.

D'Aulerio claimed second place in the 200 meters, clocking in at 26.12, marking a new season best. Tang achieved a personal best in 12th place overall, finishing in 27.96, while Abby Ryan crossed the line in 24th place (29.67), also setting a new personal best for the sophomore.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Rachel November finished sixth overall with a time of 1:18.63. The sole jumping pit action on Saturday saw Fleming clear 9.57 meters (31 feet, 4.75 inches) in the triple jump, securing an 11th-place finish.

Next for the Fords is a trip to Princeton, N.J., with women's track and field selected for participation in the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University on Friday (5 p.m.). Haverford will then compete in the West Chester Bill Butler Invitational next Saturday (10 a.m.).
