Women's track closes out regular season at TCNJ

EWING, N.J. - The Haverford College women's track & field team closed out the regular season by participating in the Lions' Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on Saturday.

Clarice Bourland registered the Fords' highest finish of the day when she came in fourth in the 1,500-meter run with a career-best time of 4 minutes, 43.43 seconds. Seniors Emily Scott and Hope Rainey also finished in the top 10 of the field of over 70 runners as they placed ninth (4:47.29) and 10th (4:52.27), respectively.

Bourland also ran well in the 800 as the freshman's time of 2:24.55 was good for 10th. Junior Katie Balmer placed eighth in the event with a mark of 2:22.63.

Erin Seglem provided another high finish for the Fords in the 400. The senior took seventh with a career-best time of 1:00.79 that currently ranks seventh on the Centennial Conference performance list.

Freshman Brittany Steele finished 11th in the 100-meter dash with a mark of 12.83 seconds. Steele also joined forces with juniors Natasha Stanley, Carolyn Oehrig and Jade Andrade to place fifth (51.20) in the 4x100 relay.

Freshman Elizabeth Reikowski delivered a season-best performance in the triple jump of 9.97 meters (32 feet, 8.50 inches) while classmate Juanita St. Thomas-Grimes registered a career-best mark of 9.64m (31-7.50) in the shot put.

Haverford now turns its attention to the Centennial Conference outdoor championships which begin on Friday at Swarthmore College.
