Weathers, Lellman Win for Women's Track at Danny Curran Meet

CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team opened up day one of the Danny Curran Meet with a pair of individual victories and another athlete making her way into the College's record book.

The Fords sent runners to compete in two races on the track and came out with individual winners in both of those events. In the 5,000 meters, the Fords swept the top three spots with Nora Weathers taking home the top honors in a time of 18:05.30. Her time is ranked 12th in NCAA Division III as of press time. Charlotte Lellman claimed the individual crown in the 10,000 meters. She won her race in a time of 38:25.95, the fifth quickest time in Division III so far this year.

Maggie Heffernan (18:10.02) and Nicole Giannetti (18:11.87) finished second and third to Weathers in the 5,000 meter race. Those times currently rank 14th and 17th in the NCAA so far this season. Amelia Keyser-Gibson placed sixth overall in the race with a time of 18:33.84. The 5,000 meter race had 47 runners in the event.

Lellman beat the field in the 10,000 meters by over 21 seconds. Two other Haverford runners also entered the event as Margaret Duffy (41:53.30) and Allison Hacker (42:34.69) placed seventh and 10th, respectively.

Making her Haverford debut in the discus, Emily Anderson broke into the College's all-time top 10 in the event. Her throw of 109'11" (33.51 meters) placed her sixth overall in the event on Friday. That toss ranks her eighth in school history in the discus.
