CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College women's track & field team began the outdoor season on Friday evening with three events at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University. Emily Anderson won the discus by over two and a half feet to highlight the Fords' opening night.

Anderson won her event with a toss of 121 feet, one and one-quarter inches (37.01 meters). That throw is just shy of her personal best from her freshman season and a mark matched by just her and the school record holder in the event, Jackie Freund '10.

The Fords had their largest representation in the 5,000 meters. Sarah Wade was the team's top finisher with a time of 18:59.24 as she placed third overall.
