Women's Track & Field Opens Weekend at Widener Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team opened this weekend's Widener Invitational in two different events on Friday evening. The Fords sent four runners to compete in the 5,000 meters, while Emily Anderson contested the discus.

In the 5,000 meter race, Sarah Wade was Haverford's top finisher as she placed fourth overall in the fastest section with a time of 18:38.99. Molly Allen was fourth overall in the second section for a 21st place finish in a time of 19:35.57. Alison Love ran a personal best time of 19:36.24 to place 22nd overall. Julia Smith covered the distance in 19:50.63 and placed 30th.

Anderson was the Fords' lone entrant in the discus on Friday evening. Her best toss traveled 35.45 meters and ranked her in a tie for fourth at night's end.

Women's outdoor track & field will continue its weekend at Widener with Saturday's schedule of events that are set to get underway at 9 a.m. with the field events. Action on the track will begin at 11 a.m.
