LA CROSSE, Wis. – Varsity Cup recipient Katie Sullivan wrapped up her decorated running career on Thursday as she competed in the 1,500 meter preliminaries at the 2018 Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Sullivan placed 10th in the heat with a time of 4:40.65, missing qualification to Saturday's national championship race. The Fords' senior was sitting in second place at the midway point of the heat before a late charge from the back of the pack overtook Sullivan and edged her out of a qualifying position.

With her final qualification, Sullivan became the eighth runner in program history to represent the Fords on multiple occasions at the outdoor national track & field championships. Sullivan was Haverford's first 1,500 meter qualifier to advance to the NCAA Championships for a second straight season. Each of the Fords' first five qualifiers in this event raced just once at this distance during the outdoor national championships.

Wrapping up a stellar career, Sullivan was a two-time All-American as a member of the Fords' 2016 third place DMR and an eighth place finisher in the 2017 mile during her indoor track & field career. She finishes as a two-time All-Mideast Region selection, two-time Centennial Conference Champion, and six-time All-Centennial Conference performer in her outdoor career. Across all three running seasons, she was a seven-time all-region performer, seven-time first-team All-Centennial Conference performer, and has garnered a total of 14 all-conference accolades throughout her career.
