PRs Abound For Women's Track & Field at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival at Patterson Field on Saturday afternoon. The meet featured a standout performance in the 800 meters, where four Fords posted personal bests.

Olivia D'Aulerio led the way in the 800 meters, which included five Haverford competitors. The junior placed second with a season-best time of 2:19.66. Savannah Shaw followed in third with a personal-best 2:20.98, while Dominique La Grenade placed eighth in a personal-best 2:22.98. Maia Poremba finished 17th, clocking a personal-best 2:29.38, and Jessie Hausman rounded out the group in 19th with a personal-best 2:30.15.

In the 100 meters, Nadine Tang sprinted to a personal-best 13.14 to place eighth. Sophie Gardiner followed in 37th with a time of 14.91. Beatrice Di Girolamo placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.91, while Ella Fleming took 12th with a personal-best 18.23.

Sophomore Grace Hannigan led the Fords in the 400 meters, placing 16th with a time of 1:05.81. Emery Casucci followed in 18th (1:06.12), and Brianna Feifer earned 21st with a personal-best 1:06.61. Carly Priest finished 22nd in 1:06.61, and Sophia Furman placed 29th with a time of 1:09.74.

Rachel November was Haverford's sole competitor in the 400-meter hurdles, earning ninth place with a time of 1:12.99.

In the 1500 meters, Anastasia Jaycobs notched a personal-best 4:55.68 to place seventh. Grace Chen followed in 25th with a time of 5:14.90. Bianca Ortiz ran a personal-best 5:18.54 to place 29th, and Katie Strutton rounded out the quartet in 40th with a time of 5:39.90. Alice Sappenfield represented the Fords in the 3000-meter steeplechase, placing second with a time of 12:11.30.

In the 5000 meters, Dalia Smid earned ninth with a time of 20:11.20. Natalie Kruglyak followed in 25th (22:41.77), just ahead of Judy Xie, who finished 26th in 23:22.86.

In the high jump, Fleming and Di Girolamo placed 16th and 18th, respectively, each clearing 1.30 meters (4 feet, 3.25 inches). In the long jump, Adrian Cruz-Soto soared 4.66 meters (15 feet, 3.5 inches) to claim 16th place.

In throws, senior Summer Ryan competed in the javelin and shot put. She placed 18th in the javelin with a mark of 25.81 meters (84 feet, 8 inches), and 19th in the shot put with a toss of 10.20 meters (33 feet, 5.75 inches).

The Fords also delivered strong performances in the 4x400 meter relay, as the "A" team placed second with a time of 4:14.08. Another team placed third, while a third Haverford squad finished 10th.

Haverford will return to action on Friday, April 11, at the two-day Bill Butler Invitational, hosted by West Chester University. Events begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and resume at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 12.
