CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College women's track & field team began the 2025 outdoor campaign with distance and throwing events at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University on Friday evening.
The first day of the Danny Curran Invitational started in the sand for the Fords, as Grace Hannigan competed in the triple jump. The sophomore soared to 9.99 meters (32 feet, 9 inches) to capture 11th place.
At the throwing pit, Sarah Wilcher kicked off her 2025 Spring campaign by competing in the shot put. The junior launched the shot put 11.46 meters (37 feet, 7 inches), to place seventh.
In the lone running event of the night for the Scarlet and Black, senior Julianna Watson led the pack in the 10,000 meters, placing 13th with a time of 40:33.58, a new personal best.
Following Watson was Grace Chen in 14th, crossing the finish line with a time of 40:36.15. Krysta Nichols grabbed 31st with a time of 43:42.52, while Audrey Carter took home 32nd place with a new personal best time of 44:26.91. Rounding out the Haverford contingent was Claire Parsons, who finished 38th with a time of 46:29.79.
Women's Track & Field will return to Leslie C Quick Jr. Stadium on Saturday, March 29, at 9:00 a.m., as the Danny Curran Invitational rolls on with action in the javelin beginning things.
