Nora Weathers Named Centennial Conference Co-Runner of the Week

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Junior Nora Weathers has been named the Centennial Conference Co-Runner of the Week after her third-place finish at the Dickinson Invitational. Ironically, she shares the weekly honor with Dickinson's Sarah Rutkowski. Rutkowski competed in the same location this past weekend, but ran in a different race.

The Dickinson Long/Short Invitational was divided up into two races, the long (6K) and short (4K) course. Weathers placed third overall (23:09:15) in the 6,000-meter race. Rutkowski placed second overall (14:21) in the 4,000-meter course.

Weathers helped No. 13 Haverford to finish second overall in the long race team standings. The Fords' 37 points edged out No. 10 Dickinson by 17 points as Haverford only trailed Division I Bucknell in the final team standings of the long race. The Fords were ineligible for the combined team standings as they sent all their runners to compete in the long race to gain a better feel for the same course that they will run at the Mideast Regional Championships in November.

Women's cross country will return home this Thursday to host the Main Line Invitational. The women's race will get underway at 5 p.m. and be followed by the men's race at approximately 5:30 p.m.
