Women's Cross Country Receiving Votes ahead of Friday's Main Line Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's cross country is receiving votes in the first US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll of the regular season. The Fords received XXX voting points in the latest top-35 poll.

Haverford returns to action this Friday for the Main Line Invitational which is set to get underway with the women's race going off at 4:45 p.m. The men's race will follow with a scheduled 5:30 p.m. start. Haverford began the 2019 season in earnest with the Alumnae Open where Griffin Kaulbach led her team to the finish line and was rewarded with Centennial Conference Runner of the Week honors for her efforts.

In addition to the Fords, this week's Main Line Invitational will include local Division I programs Penn and Villanova, along with Division III teams Swarthmore, Muhlenberg, Washington & Lee, and Widener. Haverford placed fourth in this same meet a season ago.

Haverford switched places with Messiah in this week's regional rankings as the Fords are currently the No. 5 team in the Mideast Region. The Centennial Conference has three of the top five teams overall as Johns Hopkins and Dickinson are 1-2 in the regional rankings.

Following this week's Main Line Invitational, the Fords will have another two weeks before competing at Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational on Saturday, October 5. The next USTFCCCA regional and national rankings will be released on Tuesday, September 24 and Wednesday, September 25, respectively.
