Women's Cross Country Takes Fourth at Main Line Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The 32nd-ranked Haverford College women's cross country team competed at the Main Line Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Alumni Cross Country course, finishing as the top Division III team in the seven-team event. Haverford finished fourth overall behind Division I teams Villanova, Penn, and La Salle while placing ahead of squads from Elizabethtown, Muhlenberg and Widener. 

Haverford's top finisher was senior Izzy Miller, who crossed in 11th overall with the fastest time from Division III athlete. Miller established a new personal best in the three-mile distance, with a final mark of 17:26.6. The second Haverford runner to toe the line was first year Katie Hirsche, who posted a sub-18 mark of her own (17:56.7) for a 25th place overall finish.

Following close behind Hirsche was Angie Petrichenko, the 27th finisher in 18:17.6, establishing a new personal record. Griffin Kaulbach also crossed within the top 30, notching a personal-best time of 18:17.6 to finish 29th overall. Hannah Yeakey was the final Haverford scorer, crossing in 43rd overall in 19:43.7 while Lauren Tanel was just outside the scoring in 44th, crossing the finish in a personal-best 19:45.8. 

First years Dominique Monroy (52nd, 20:24.0), Maya Holmes (57th, 20:56.4), and Krysta Nichols (21:14.6) were the next three to finish the course for the Fords, with Selena She rounding out the Haverford competitors with a time of 24:02.1 for 75th. 

Haverford next returns to action with the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Friday, October 1. One of the largest cross country meets on the eastern seaboard will feature action beginning at 10 a.m.
