BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 27th-ranked Haverford women's cross country team traveled to the illustrious Paul Short Run Friday morning at Lehigh University. In the 47th running of the annual event, the group walked away with solid individual performances.

In a field of 342 athletes, four Haverford harriers competed in the Women's College Brown 6K race. Senior Angie Petrichenko and first year Katie Hirsche grabbed top 20 finishes in the event. Petrichenko finished 15th in the race with a 6k personal best of 21:41.3, which beat her previous PR of 23:00.8, set at the NCAA Division III Midwest Region Cross Country Championships back in 2019.

Right behind Petrichenko was Hirsche, finishing in 18th with a time of 21:47.0. It was Hirsche's first 6K in a Haverford top and a personal best for her as well. Her pace of 5:50.4 per mile made for an impressive and improving performance. Her last run came at the Main Line Invitational, where she posted a time of 17:46.7 (5:58.9 avg. mile) in the Women's three-mile individual on September 17.

In the 2019 Paul Short Run, senior Lauren Tanel ran 25:18.6 in the 6K race. This year, she would go on to smash that time, posting a personal best of 23:55.3 (193rd), beating her previous PR of 24:20.3 set back in the 2018 Centennial Conference Championships. Freshman Dominique Monroy (302nd) also held her own with a personal best time of 25:45.4 in only her third race for Haverford.

The rest of the squad competed in the open division of the festivities. First year Maya Holmes was the top finisher amongst the group, notching a 149th place finish out of 291 athletes. She finished with a time of 25:00.8, and a minute behind her was First year Krysta Nichols running 26.04.8 (211th).

Junior Annemarie Wood's finishing time was 26:43.3 (236th), while the final two finishers were juniors Selena She and Hedy Goodman with times of 28:41.7 (274th) and 28:56.7 (275th) respectively.

The Fords now take a bulk of personal bests into their next meet, with the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle set for October 16 in Glassboro, N.J. at the Gloucester County DREAM Park.
