LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Haverford senior Izzy Miller took home the individual title in the Rowan Border Battle on the course at Gloucester County DREAM Park on Saturday afternoon, pacing the field of 275 with a time of 21:33.8. The performance helped lead the 32nd-ranked Fords to a fourth place finish in the team standings, ahead of conference foes No. 7 Dickinson and Swarthmore. Johns Hopkins took home the overall event title.

Miller's career-best time was more than eight seconds faster than the second place finisher, Ashley Heidenrich of Johns Hopkins. Miller, a South Jersey native, took her first intercollegiate title with the impressive performance.  She was joined in the top 10 by classmate Angie Petrichenko, as she crossed in a career-best 22:02. Griffin Kaulbach finished 16th overall, finishing the course in 22:47.8 to give Haverford three scorers in the top 20.

Lauren Tanel (24:24.3) and Hannah Yeakey (24:53.1) were the other Haverford scorers, finishing in 69th and 98th place, respectively. Just outside the scoring was Maya Holmes, as the first year notched a 138th place finish in 25:45.1 to round out the Haverford contingent.

Haverford was competing at the Rowan-hosted meet for the first time since the 2017 campaign when they also finished in fourth. The meet served as a course preview as the inaugural Metro Region championships will be held at the same course on November 13.

Dominique Monroy competed in the 6K women's open race that followed the men's championship, finishing 32nd in a time of 26:24.1, while Krysta Nichols notched a 43rd place performance, crossing in 27:00.8.

A contingent from Haverford will be right back in action on Friday, October 22 at home for the Haverford Invitational at 4:30 p.m. That meet is the final tune-up for the Fords before the Centennial Conference Championships, which will be hosted by Johns Hopkins on Saturday, October 30. The women's race is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
