Women's Cross Country Ranked Fifth in Initial Regional Rankings

Full USTFCCCA Regional Rankings Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Women's Track & Field checks in at No. 5 in the first release of the 2022 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) Metro Region Regional Rankings. Last season, Haverford began its tenure in the Metro region with the number four spot in the first regional rankings, but vastly outpaced that prognostication, claiming the 2021 Metro Region Championship.

No. 29 Swarthmore is the only nationally ranked squad in the Metro Region, with Widener, TCNJ, and Stockton ahead of the Fords. Haverford is above Ursinus, Rowan, DeSales, Ramapo, and Moravian to round out the top 10.  Historically one of the strongest teams on the eastern seaboard, the Fords have earned automatic qualification to the national championship on seven occasions, and have placed among the top four in 23 of the past 28 regional meets.

The Alumnae Open is set to open the season on September 3 before the first outside competition as a full squad will take place on Friday, September 16 at the Main Line Invitational. Haverford will host the Centennial Conference Championship on October 29 on the Alumni Cross Country Course.
