Women's Cross Country Hosts Haverford Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's cross country team competed in the Haverford Invitational on Friday afternoon on the Alumni Cross Country Course. Katie Hirsche paced the Fords in the three-mile course, finishing in 18:12.1 for a third-place overall finish, slotted just below a pair of runners from Division I Penn.

In the team standings, Haverford was edged by Division I St. Joseph's by a 20 to 39 final.  

The next Haverford runner to cross following Hirsche was Krysta Nichols, who took a 10th place finish in 20:41.1. Jessie Hausman (11th, 21:09.9), Audrey Carter (12th, career-best 21:40.2), and Sophia Furman (13th, 21:58.3) rounded out the Haverford contingent on Friday. 

The Fords now return to action at home on Saturday, October 29 for the Centennial Conference Championships at the Alumni Cross Country Course. All of the action is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
