Men's Outdoor T&F in Second Place After Day Two of CC Championship

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Haverford College men's outdoor track & field team built off of a successful first day and gained points in multiple events during day two of competition at the Centennial Conference Championship. The Fords remain in second place to Johns Hopkins, exactly where both teams stood after the first day. Haverford totaled a modest 47 points after two days.

Senior Jeffrey Ainsley set the tone early in the day, gaining points in two events. Ainsley took fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.77 meters. He also placed seventh in long jump, making his mark at 6.12m.

Haverford's best event on Saturday was the steeplechase. The Fords placed three competitors in the top eight, led by Graham Peet in second place. Peet finished with a final time of 9:29.12. James Stadler took fourth place in 9:37.88 while Lincoln Satterthwaite placed seventh in 9:47.68. 

In the 4x800 relay, Haverford placed fourth with the team of Ryan Gooding, Tyler Fong, Peter Kurtz, and Julian Schneider. The foursome finished with a time of 7:51.47. The two, three, and four teams finished just three seconds apart.

Headlining preliminary events, senior Charlie Marquardt came in first place in the 800 meters at 1:55.01.
