Men's Track & Field Wraps Up Danny Curran Invitational Saturday

CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College men's track & field team wrapped up action at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener on Saturday, with a large contingent of 400 meter runners as well as limited entrants in the 100 meters, 800 meters, 1,500 meters, and long jump. 

A large grouping of 400 meter runners was paced by Ravi Eaton, who crossed in ninth place overall in a personal-best time of 50.75. Jonathan Hill (51.61), Kinnan Abdalhamid (55.89), Caesar Dai (56.40) also logged top 50 finishes in the loaded field, while Leo Gordon (56.81), Kevin Villafane (1:00.13), Jonah Hoffman-Weitsman (1:01.37) and Matthew Ruiz (1:03.30) also competed in the event for the Fords. 

Sam Diaz had a stellar turn in the 800 meters, as he took a 2:02.79, a new personal-best in the distance by almost three seconds. David Cole logged a 12.77 in the 100 meters, while Deven Abrams contested the 1,500 meters, crossing in 4:57.82. 

In the men's long jump, Nathan Ma was the 22nd place finisher with a mark of 6.10 meters (20 feet), a new personal best in the event. Leo Gordon finished 50th overall (4.89 meters or 16 feet, ½ inch) while Eaton was 52nd (4.16 meters or 13 feet, 7.78 inches). 

With the first two weekends of the outdoor season now in the rearview, Haverford now returns to action on Saturday, April 8 at West Chester University, as the Golden Ram Invitational is slated for a 10 a.m. finish.
