PHILADELPHIA – The Haverford College women's track & field team made its triumphant return to competition on Saturday afternoon. The Fords wasted no time in challenging themselves as they competed inside the University of Pennsylvania's historic Franklin Field during the Philadelphia Metropolitan Collegiate Invitational.

Running against primarily Division I competition, the Fords certainly held their own throughout the season debut. Izzy Miller was the highest individual placer on the day as she took seventh as the top Division III runner in her 5,000 meter event with a personal-best time of 17:38.40. In addition to being her best race at that distance, that time ranks 10th in school history and is currently the 19th-best time in Division III this season. Julianna Watson (20:13.50) and Ellie Keating (20:13.50) placed 17th and 18th, respectively, in what was the outdoor collegiate debut for both runners in their respective first-year and sophomore campaigns.

Griffin Kaulbach and Lilly Sirover also had strong showings in the 1,500 meters as they placed second and third overall in their heat. They were also the top Division III runners in the field. Kaulbach crossed the finish line in a time of 4:57.12 to place 13th overall. Sirover was one spot behind her teammate with a time of 5:04.57 during her collegiate debut as a first-year.

The meet at Penn marked the final collegiate competition of the spring season but the Fords will still look to compete in time trials at Haverford during the remainder of the semester.
