Women's Track & Field Impresses On Day Two of Danny Curran Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. - The Haverford College women's track & field team competed on day two at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational, with sprinters, jumpers, vaulters, and middle-distance runners taking to the track after distance night wrapped up on Friday.

A large group competed in the 100 meters, led by Olivia D'Aulerio, as the sophomore clocked a time of 13.08 for 11th place overall. Nadine Tang made her outdoor debut with a time of 13.28 for 18th place, and Adriana Cruz-Soto finished 36th in her outdoor debut with a time of 13.96. Abby Ryan finished 44th in her first outdoor 100 meters (14.44), while Ella Fleming achieved a personal best, finishing 46th (14.78).

In the 200 meters, D'Aulerio secured a ninth-place finish (26.41), while Abby Ryan achieved a personal best in 55th place (30.04). The 400 meters saw Rachel November finish 23rd (1:08.14), with Shahla Mukhtar right behind in 24th place, clocking a nearly identical time (1:08.14).

Alice Creed participated in the pole vault, leaping past the bar at 2.85 meters (9 feet, 4.25 inches). Fleming finished 27th in the long jump, clearing 4.37 meters (14 feet, four inches).

The 800-meter contingent was led by Isabel Thornberry, who crossed the line in 2:20.92 for fifth place overall. Thornberry was joined by teammate Dominique Monroy in the top 15, as Monroy secured 14th place (2:24.88), narrowly missing a personal best. Alice Sappenfield finished 21st (2:29.47) in her outdoor debut, while Carly Priest was in 28th (2:31.33). Jessie Hausman achieved a personal best, finishing 23rd (2:34.35), while Sophia Furman crossed 44th with a career-best time of 2:40.03. Brianna Feifer finished 49th in 2:44.03.

The 1,500-meter group was led by Anastasia Jaycobs, who clocked a time of 5:06.46 in her outdoor debut for 21st place. Theresa Haupt crossed the line in 5:29.10, with Poppy Chrisman right behind at 5:29.16. Judy Xie finished 49th in 5:51.98.

Haverford had two relay squads hit the track in the 4x400-meter relay, with the team of D'Aulerio, Monroy, Jaycobs, and Sappenfield finishing in 4:12.38, while the team of Tang, November, Priest, and Thornberry passing the baton around in 4:20.8.

Haverford will now return to action next week, heading to Ursinus College for the two-day Ursinus Outdoor Invitational. The action is slated to begin at 5 p.m. on day one before continuing on Saturday, April 6, at 10 a.m.
