Men's Outdoor T&F Names Seven to All-Centennial Conference Team

HAVERFORD, Pa. –The Centennial Conference released its annual All-Conference teams today and the Haverford College men's outdoor track and field team had seven members receive accolades. Senior Charlie Marquardt was not only named to the first team, but he was also named the Centennial Conference Outstanding Track Performer.

Athletes who won events at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track Championships are listed as the All-Centennial Conference first team while second place finishers are the second team. Third place finishers were All-CC honorable mention.

With four members named to the first team, Haverford showed improvement over last season when it had three named to the same accolade. Joining Marquardt (1,500 meters) on the first team are fellow seniors Jeffrey Ainsley (110 hurdles), Dylan Verner-Crist (10,000 meters), and Jonathan Yellets (400 meters).

Marquardt and Yellets were was also named to the second team with second place finishes in the 800 meters and 200 meters respectively. They're joined by freshman Graham Peet (steeplechase). Honorable mentions went to junior Jimmy Gorman (10,000 meters) and sophomore Henry Woods (5,000 meters).

Marquardt was named Outstanding Track Performer for the second year in a row. The Pasadena, Calif. native set a new personal record in the 800 meters (1:51.82) at Haverford's only home track event of the season. At the Centennial Conference Championship, he placed first in both the 5,000 meters and the 1,500 meters while finishing second in the 800. He has also won the same award for the last two years in the indoor season.

The Fords will now travel to the NCAA Championship in Waverly, Iowa hosted by Wartburg College from May 26-28.
