Matt Katz '22 joined the Men’s Track & Field coaching staff at his alma mater as a volunteer assistant prior to the 2024 outdoor season.

Katz, a team captain and NCAA All-American for the indoor mile at Haverford during the 2019-20 campaign, was especially decorated during indoor competition, with a trio of Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week awards and two USTFCCCA All-Region certificates in addition to First-team All-Centennial Conference designation in the distance medley relay. 

Katz was a Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team selection during the 2019-20 season and a Centennial Conference Honor Roll selection in each season of eligibility for the award. He was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete during the 2019-20 campaign. 

The Huntington, N.Y. native graduated from Haverford with a degree in Growth and Structures of Cities and Fine Arts in May of 2022.
