CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Haverford College women's soccer team (3-2-2, 0-1-1 CC) played Washington College (4-2-2, 0-0-2 CC) to a scoreless draw on Wednesday evening, as the two teams each registered nine shots and three corners in 110 minutes of action. The Fords applied pressure late in the second overtime, but could not break through for the winning goal.

Washington College had perhaps its best chance at finding the back of the net on its very first shot, as Bess Mascone hit the crossbar in the ninth minute as the Shorewomen came out firing. Washington tested Friedrich with a pair of first half shots on frame, while Ella Manning had her attempt saved in the 14th minute as the team's traded methodical trips into the attacking third.

McMillan had Haverford's best scoring attempt of the second half, putting a shot on target in the 59th minute, and the Shorewomen went back to work looking for the winning goal themselves, with two shots in the final three minutes of regulation.

Alyssa Saito notched the only shot of the first 10 minutes of overtime, missing wide before the second overtime period saw the Fords earn two crucial corner kicks, with McMillan finding the foot of Sarah Klink in the 106th minute. Klink's solid look on goal sailed just high as the Fords intense push at the winning goal reached a fever pitch. Celia Page later had an attempt on frame and another sail wide in the waning moments of action, while Friedrich was called into action in the 108th minute, making her final save of the night.

Despite the draw, Haverford picked up its fourth shutout of the young season. Hannah Friedrich has three of those efforts, notching four saves under the lights on Wednesday. The Fords have not surrendered more than two goals in any contest this season.

The Fords are now home to face another Maryland team in No. 2 Johns Hopkins on Saturday. The contest with the Blue Jays is slated to begin at noon and will be followed by the men's team taking on JHU at approximately 3 p.m.
