HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's soccer team (11-5-1, 5-3-1 CC) triumphed over Bi-Co rival Bryn Mawr (4-9-3, 0-8-1) with a decisive 4-0 victory on a warm October afternoon at historic Walton Field. The win helped the Fords keep pace in the playoff race with just one match left in the regular season, and Haverford later clinched its first trip to the Centennial Conference tournament since 2019 as Swarthmore defeated Washington College later Wednesday evening.

The first half saw limited chances from both teams, with goalkeepers Allie Billups and Maeve Slemko making crucial saves. The breakthrough came in the 42nd minute after a Bryn Mawr slip at midfield. Ali Dorrego capitalized, driving down the flank and passing to Sarah Klink. The senior lofted a dangerous cross into the box, where first-year Clare Hawley headed it past Slemko, putting Haverford up 1-0 with her first career tally.

This goal remained the only score of the first half as the Scarlet and Black entered halftime with a 1-0 lead. Haverford held a commanding 15-0 shot advantage and led in corner kicks, 4-1 at the intermission.

Haverford quickly extended its lead just after the break. In the 48th minute, following a throw-in by JJ Stein, Stein received a return pass from Keira Prince and launched a one-time ball into the box. The ball bypassed Phoebe Garfield and found Olivia Daulerio, who one-timed it past Slemko for a 2-0 lead.

The Fords struck again just 10 minutes later. A pass from midfield connected with Klink, who sent a curling ball into the box. After the ball was initially cleared, it fell back to Klink, who fired a one-time shot into the net, boosting Haverford's lead to 3-0.

In the 64th minute, the Scarlet and Black added their fourth and final goal. Abigale Baker's long ball from the back line found Prince, who sped past multiple defenders towards the endline. The senior sent a high-arcing pass into the box, where Garfield volleyed it home, sealing the Fords' 4-0 victory.

In the commanding win, Haverford outshot Bryn Mawr 27-1, while Billups earned her second shutout in as many starts.

The Fords will conclude their regular season on Saturday, November 2, with an away game against Hood Trophy rival Swarthmore at 4 p.m. Both teams face high stakes, as this match will influence both the Hood Trophy standings and playoff seeding.
