HAVERFORD, Pa. - After a 2021 season that resulted in narrowly missing out on the Centennial Conference tournament, the Haverford Women's Soccer team returns to competition this fall with a renewed focus on getting back to where they belong. The regular season is set for 17 regular-season matches, with 10 of them at home on Walton Field. The Fords take on Elizabethtown in a home exhibition Tuesday, August 23 before the annual Alumnae Match on Saturday, August 27 at Featherbed Field.
The team's official start of the season is slated for September 3 at the annual Haverford Kick Off Classic, with the traditional lid-lifer against Arcadia. The next day, the Fords then take on Stevens to wrap up the first weekend of action. Haverford then hosts a midweek contest against Delaware Valley before hitting the road for the first time in 2022 at Lebanon Valley (Sept. 10). The Fords then return to Walton Field for three straight games starting with DeSales (Sept. 13), Dickinson (Sept. 17), and Washington College (Sept. 21). The game against Dickinson marks the start of Centennial Conference play.
The schedule continues with a Saturday trip to Maryland to take on Johns Hopkins (Sept. 24). Haverford returns home for a midweek matinee with Immaculata (Sept. 27) to round out the first month of the season. A four-game road swing then starts off October, with matchups at Muhlenberg (Oct. 1), Rowan (Oct. 5), Ursinus (Oct. 8) and Franklin & Marshall (Oct. 12) before a two-game home swing against McDaniel (Oct. 15) and Bryn Mawr (Oct. 19). That three-game homestand is capped by Senior Day against Gettysburg (Oct. 22), and the women's team ends the regular season with an away contest against Hood Trophy rival Swarthmore (Oct. 29).
In November, the Fords will hope for participation in the Centennial Conference tournament, as the first round in the conference will be held on November 2 before semifinal and final action on Saturday, November 5 and 6.
