LANCASTER, Pa. - The Haverford College women's soccer team (5-3-4, 1-2-3 CC) was upended by No. 24 Franklin & Marshall (8-1-3, 3-1-2 CC) on Wednesday afternoon in Lancaster, as Sierra Brophy logged a hat-trick within the span of four minutes to sink the Fords and send the Diplomats into the win column.

Haverford kept up the offensive pressure in the early goings, with shots from Alyssa Saito, Ella Manning and Celia Page as the Fords established a presence in the final third in the first 30 minutes of action. Page fired high in the 19th minute and wide in the 25th minute, before Franklin & Marshall opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Brophy found the rebound from an initially saved shot and found pay dirt with her return salvo into the net with a perfectly placed ball. Brophy again scored in the 34th minute, this time taking a feed from Lanie Anderson, and completed the hattrick on F&M's very next possession, taking a pass from O'Callahan yet again and finishing as Haverford suddenly found itself in a 3-0 hole.

Ashley Chun rocketed a shot on frame in the 43rd minute, but goalkeeper Emma Nolan denied the attempt as the Diplomats secured its sizable advantage heading into the intermission.

In the second, Haverford had some solid chances with Abigale Baker and Grace Haskell each firing wide, and Sarah Klink having her shot attempt blocked in the 77th minute, but the Diplomats seemed content to play possession with their lead solidly in hand, denying Haverford a chance to gain momentum with no shots on goal registered for either side in the second half. Franklin & Marshall held a 13-10 advantage in shots on the afternoon, with the corner kicks tied at 2-2 for the contest.

Haverford will now return to action at home on Saturday, taking on McDaniel at 3 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader with the men's team also taking on the Green Terror at noon. The contest will be the first of three straight home games for the Fords.
